Hi everyone - I'm back

Oohh what a lovely break.

Spent most of the week with my feet up, reading books. It's years since I have been able to do that. Do you know what? for the first time in months I stopped thinking about all this infertility stuff. I can't lie and say it hasn't crossed my mind whether this cycle has worked, but for once, it has not been ruling me. I felt like my life was back. This may sounds strange but I have been a little scared to get back online as I don't want it all to consume me again and blogging does that. Anyway, I managed nearly 24 hours, then just had to peek.

So what else has been going on? not a lot really. Definitely don't feel pregnant and I am absolutely convinced I am not. Don't know why, but I feel like I know. In a way when we went away I felt like this cycle ended - there were no more injections, no more hospital procedures, just everything down to mother nature, so in a way I have preparing for 'the real end'. On top of all that, it was the most pathetic of every cycle known to man and we fell over the finish line, so my expectations are nil. Therefore, I don't feel I have far to fall if it's bad news.

As far as symptoms go, the only thing I have is sore boobs and that could just be the usual monthly aches and pains.

Next week is the big week. We don't have a beta in the UK, we just have a normal pregnancy test. So don't worry, if I get bad news, I won't be distraught, as it is the only thing I am expecting.

Right I'm off to catch up on all your news......

I'm happy you had such a wonderful break. Relaxing and reading is my idea of a good vacation. I'm also glad you were able to get IF out of your mind for a little bit. It's hard to balance the right amount of time spent thinking about IF. The more you think about it, the more you think about it.

I admire your realistic attitude. I'm sure it would be better to have an unexpected surprise than more disappointment.

Welcome back!

So glad you got to get away. We all need to find more ways to get our old selves back like that. It can be so, so hard.

And, I agree with Sarah--there's nothing wrong with low expectations. But I will hope for you on this side of the pond. :-)

Hey Becks,
I was the same way- I was convinced that I wasnt pregnant! I even cried to my husband during the 2ww saying I dont know why it didnt work- when it did. I think I prepared myself for a negative result and that was my saving grace. I am praying for you- please let us know! :)

Happy that you're having a nice break. It is easier to forget about the whole IF thing when you're not poking yourself with needles every day... and when you're not online every second! Hope your gut feeling is wrong!

Hi Becks,
The break sounded great, just what you needed by the sound of things.

I get the low expectation idea. It's best to keep your feet on the ground for sure/ I'm away this week and I really hope to get back to some surprise good news.

Take care of yourself. It is stressful, no matter how well you're coping x

Welcome back! I have to admit that I missed you. :-)

So glad to hear that you were able to nurture yourself for a few days!!! And I understand completely what you mean about blogging threatening your ability to stay outside of the IF obsession. I feel the same way.

If you would like, we could email about whatever, not necessarily IF stuff if you still want the connection but need to avoid blogs for a while.

Glad you are back safe--and sounds like you had a wonderful mini-break!!
I am sorry for the low hopes, but I am still holding out for you...
I thought about this weekend when I was on the beach too--hoping that you were not in IF mode and just enjoying yourself-glad you were!

Sounds like you had a great trip! My family actually comes from S Wales! They were from a little area called Kenfyg Hill (not sure about the spelling). I think it was near caernarvon (again sorry for the poor spelling!) I went there when I was a kid and we found relations who only spoke Welsh! I remember the old man pressed a coin into my hand, but I couldnt understand a word he said! Its right on the coast too...would love to go back some day! :) Good luck with this cycle! You may not have much in the way of expectations, but I'll be hopeful for you, OK?!
