The lights are on but there's no one at home

So when I started my down regulation injections on April 3rd I was ready......ready for:
  • the headaches
  • the temper tantrums*
  • the mood swings*
  • the hot flushes*
  • the tears*
  • the be-atch from hell*

and what did I get......nothing, nada, zip, zilch. Well I do admit, I've had daily headaches.

It hasn't played on my mind at all, in fact, I think it's a good thing that I've been pretty 'normal' up to now. But what is playing on my mind is that its Day 2 of my stims and what do I feel? Yes, you guessed it....nothing, nada, zip, zilch.

At what point should the ovaries start to tinkle? When on earth should I notice SOMETHING happening?

I'm off to Google the words 'placebo' and 'IVF'.......

* well, no worse than normal

Granted that I am a worrywart, but I might consider putting a call into my doctor's office.

Good luck!

I really didn't start to feel anything until day 6 -8 of stims. Oh when they tinkle you'll know!

I didn't start to feel anything till around day 8 of stims, totally panicked all for nothing, as there were ten follies at the first scan while I felt zilch. You'll be fine!

I agree with Jenny, you will definitely know. I was the same, wasn't quite sure what was going on in there until well into stims. Hang in there!

i was so surprised not to feel those symptoms because i was such a disaster on clomid. halfway through stims the hot flashes kicked in, but the emotional stuff wasn't really a problem until the 2ww. i did start feeling my ovaries after about a week of stimming.

good luck!!

I didn't really feel much even on stims. I guess I felt a little full around the time of trigger, but I never had much in the way of symptoms other than the occasional hot flash.

Thanks for commenting on my blog. Just found yours and wanted to first wish you luck this cycle. As for symptoms on stims.. I barely felt anything either. I just started getting crampy closer to my ER. And I stim really well so I had plenty of follicles and plenty of action going on. I'm sure you'll be fine. I know this whole process is stressful and you can't help but worry about every little thing.

Hey there, just popping over to say Hi and good luck with your next scan, really hoping there's something "brewing" in there - I am sure there will be!!

Clomid made me a monster. The injectibles really weren't bad at all. The headaches were there, but there wasn't much else.

Just checking in on you! I didnt have many side effects from the stims.. I think the worst was a headache that first weekend and of course towards the end the tingle and twitching in your abdomen.

Hope your weekend has been wonderful!

I didn't get many symptoms during my stims. I think I felt a bit bloated but only about a week or more in and only then a few ovary "twinges".

DON"T WORRY! It's great not to have too many symptoms!

Lots of luck - i'll be here hoping for you xx

I hope things are still going well and that you're getting lots of good eggs without too many side effects.

I'm glad you took some time out to remember the love that started this whole crazy process. It's so easy to get lost and forget about the big picture in moments of weakness.

Hugs!

I'm sure everything is just fine. Hopefully your scan will reassure you.
I had the same feeling with Clomid (different league, I know) but I was so scared of all the dreaded side effects, then pleased to not be suffering, then worried I wasn't reacting.
It's a funny way to be but I think we spend so long looking for clues we're bound to worry no matter what.
